Florence, Colorado: THE PLACE TO BE FOR THE 4TH OF JULY!

Florence, Colorado is the place to be for the 4th of July. It's all about red, white and YOU!

Actually Florence is a fun place to be any day of the year, but the town pulls out all the stops to celebrate Independence Day with the Florence 4th of July Festival.

Instead of listing all the fun things to experience, celebrate, see, eat and enjoy--it would be quicker to say there pretty much will be EVERYTHING there to make sure the whole family and friends have a great time.

Florence isn't celebrating on just the 4th. Oh, no! This celebration is so big it has to be packed into four days.

It's worth the drive. If you haven't ever visited Florence, you've been missing a friendly welcome, walkable streets, free parking and the best of small town living.

Florence, CO: Florence 4th of July Festival

I think the Florence 4th of July Festival is one of the best things going on in Florence. Mainly it was due to the wet/dry parade. There's nothing like watching friends and fellow townspeople getting soaked by a pump truck, buckets, water guns and much more. Or even staying dry is fun.

But there was something missing. FIREWORKS!

Oh! Ah! Nope--no fireworks since I've moved to Florence about three years ago.

Well, hopefully that will change. The Rocky Mountain Bank And Trust has donated $5,000 to become the title sponsor of the festival and fireworks. But about $20,000 is needed. Those wanting to enjoy a fantastic fireworks show, can donate at the Florence City Hall, located at 600 West 3rd Street.

The festival with be from July 2 to 4. A beer garden, craft booths, a kid's corner, a 5k run, live music and so much more are planned. And of course the popular wet/dry parade will be part of the festival.

Hats off to Rocky Mountain Bank And Trust for donating. But we all have to do our part--cause I love them fireworks!
